The Troopers United Foundation (TUF), The New Jersey Crime Scene Investigators Association (NJCSIA), the New Jersey Homicide Investigators Association (NJHIA), and the Missing in New Jersey Association (MINJA) will hold their fourth annual Banquet on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.
The guests will include officers and detectives from federal, state, county, and local law enforcement agencies, scientists from the Forensic laboratory, prosecutors from various agencies, and judges. In addition, we welcome people to attend the award dinner/comedy event to show support for our law enforcement community.
Nominees from multiple law enforcement agencies will receive awards for their outstanding efforts during a criminal investigation. The association will also present a Lifetime Achievement Award to one of the attendees for their dedication and service throughout the years.
Attendees will enjoy entertainment by TV/Radio Personality Bill Spadea, Comedian/Radio Personality Jill Myra, Comedian Steve Trevelise, Comedian Vinnie Brand, and music and entertainment from Chris Darlington. Chris is a Deputy Sheriff and Nashville recording artist. He is most recognized for his hit song, Hold That Line, which reinforces the love and support for those within the law enforcement community.
We will honor Bob Delaney with a lifetime achievement award for his service and dedication to the law enforcement community. Mr. Delaney is a former undercover New Jersey State Trooper and former NBA referee who officiated from the 1987-1988 NBA season until the 2010-2011 NBA season. He advocates for Law Enforcement resiliency and presents worldwide on operational stress awareness and self-care.
As part of the annual banquet, the net proceeds will be donated to the family of a law enforcement member who made the ultimate sacrifice. Major Jeffrey Burke #5678, Commanding Officer of the Intelligence & Criminal Enterprise Section, succumbed to a 9/11-related illness contracted while serving in the line of duty in response to the World Trade Center terrorist attacks.
Major Jeffrey Burke was a truly remarkable individual. He was a loyal friend, brother, father, husband, and colleague. He lived a life of integrity and kindness and touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will forever remain in our hearts and will be missed. Godspeed Jeff. May you rest in peace. The net proceeds will support his family via the Troopers United Foundation.
