PASCO COUNTY, FL – An illegal immigrant from Venezuela was arrested in early September on charges related to repeated sexual assaults of a 14-year-old girl, according to authorities. The suspect, identified as 53-year-old Eduardo Rivera-Villarreal, had apparently entered the country illegally under the Biden administration and was cut loose by immigration authorities operating under the Biden’s de facto policy of catch and release.
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco held a press conference on September 5th regarding the arrest of Rivera-Villarreal, the illegal immigrant accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl he reportedly first encountered back in August at a bus stop where the young victim was sitting.
Officials say the suspect had offered the young victim a ride while she sat at the bus stop on August 20th, only to later offer the child money in exchange for sex. Authorities say Rivera-Villarreal had met up with the victim on several other occasions between August 20th and September 2nd, during which the victim tried to flee from Rivera-Villarreal on at least one of the occasions, but the suspect allegedly forced himself onto her.
After the purported latest encounter between the suspect and the victim, authorities say the victim was visibly under the influence of alcohol and was taken to an area hospital by another adult, where the victim shared the alleged abuse by Rivera-Villarreal with the aforementioned adult, who, in turn, later informed authorities.
Speaking before the press, Sheriff Nocco detailed how his investigators learned that Rivera-Villarreal is apparently terrified of the cartels in his home country, saying, “The one thing about Eduardo is that he confessed to our detectives is that he's scared about going back to Venezuela because he says the cartels are after him. So, everybody here's a clear message: Eduardo Villarreal will be in a Florida prison for life. So just putting it out there, if those cartels are really mad at him, that's where Eduardo will be for the rest of his life when he gets charged and convicted.”
The Pasco County Sheriff took aim at the failed border policies of the prior administration, which led to the young victim being assaulted, mentioning the typical practices associated with Biden’s controversial mandate of catch-and-release during his presidency.
“Homeland Security also put a detainer on him. Eduardo, just a little bit of history, he entered the country illegally in 2023 - he was stopped by CBP - but was released,” Sheriff Nocco stated, adding, “He then established residency in Colorado, where he received a driver's license. He was actually stopped in Colorado several times, and the last time (May of this past year), he was stopped in Colorado in a traffic stop.”
A particular area of both contention and concern for Sheriff Nocco was how easily the illegal alien suspect was able to obtain work illegally within the country, with said line of work – a delivery driver - also putting unwitting citizens at risk due to the suspect having sensitive information like home addresses of would-be victims.
“The other thing about Eduardo is that he is a delivery guy. So that raises a lot of concerns, and [what] scares us is the fact that this is a delivery driver in our community. So, two things on this: the first is that we are notifying Homeland Security,” Sheriff Nocco said before the press, emphasizing, “Whoever hired this individual to be a delivery driver without status of being a United States citizen, they're going to have to deal with that - and their information will be handed over to Homeland Security. The second thing is that we want to make sure that if there are any [further] victims out there, we will post the information about Eduardo.”
