Man suspected of killing three, including young teen girl, now in police custody after a violent rampage

LEVITTOWN, PA - Law enforcement officials have confirmed that the suspect allegedly wanted for murdering three people before attempting to flee back to New Jersey has been arrested without further incident.

The gunman, identified as 26-year-old Andre Gordon, is accused of killing three of his family members, including a 13-year-old girl. The incident began around 8:42 a.m. when officers were dispatched to a residence on Viewpoint Lane in Levittown on reports of shots being fired.

District Attorney Jennifer Schorn said that Gordon was driving a stolen car from Trenton, New Jersey, and once at the home, forced his way in and killed his 52-year-old stepmother Karen Gordon and his younger sister, Kera Gordon. During a news conference, Schorn said that three other people were inside of the home at the time of the shooting, including a minor. She said that those three were able to "hide and avoid being shot by Gordon as he went through the house searching for them."

Immediately following that incident, Gordon allegedly drove to a residence on Edgewood Lane in Levittown and fatally shot 25-year-old Taylor Daniel, with whom he shares two children. During that violent incident, Schorn said that four other people were inside the home, including one person who was injured after Gordon "bludgeoned" her with an "assault rifle." The unnamed woman was transported to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

Authorities said that after those incidents, Gordon allegedly carjacked a 44-year-old man at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Dollar General store in Morrisville. The driver was not injured. Gordon then fled the area in a 2016 gray Honda CRV with a Pennsylvania license plate and a "Namaste" sticker in white letters on the right bumper.

Authorities were able to locate the vehicle, which was unoccupied, in Trenton around 11:38 a.m., according to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. Around 12:22 p.m., the district attorney's office said that it received information that Gordon had barricaded himself with hostages inside of a home in Trenton.

Prior to this information being shared, police in Pennsylvania said that Gordon was homeless, but had connections to Trenton. They said that he was in possession of a semiautomatic rifle, which he allegedly used in both of the shootings. Police warned that he was "extremely dangerous" and could have additional weapons on him.

Police and SWAT team members surrounded the home and evacuated neighbors. At the time, it was believed that Gordon was inside on the first floor. However, Gordon was not home. Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora said, "It's apparent that he left before police arrived. The people that were still in the house on the second floor believed, and they relayed to them through 911 calls, that he was still downstairs."

Instead, Gordon was spotted a few hours later, around 5:45 p.m. on New York Avenue at the back entrance of a hospital less than a quarter-mile away from the home. He was taking into custody without incident. Gusciora said, "My understanding is he was walking down the street."

Gordon has been charged by New Jersey authorities with carjacking, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in the second degree, unlawful possession of an assault firearm in the second degree, unlawful possession of a firearm without a serial number in the third degree, receiving stolen property in the third degree, unlawful possession of large-capacity ammunition in the fourth degree, and possession of hollow-point ammunition in the fourth degree. Charges in Pennsylvania are still pending.

Daniel

WTF does "unlawful possession of large-capacity ammunition" mean???

Richard

He's got a lot of bullets for a gun that shoots bullets faster than a 22 caliber gun.
