MEMPHIS, TN - Police have announced the arrests of three teens who are allegedly responsible for a slew of robberies that took place over the span of four weeks.

According to FOX 13, two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old were taken into custody after a police pursuit that took place during the afternoon on Sunday, January 19th. Officers with the Memphis Police Department (MPD) noticed a stolen white Ford Mustang on Summer Avenue and tried to pull it over, but the driver sped off. The car eventually crashed into a guardrail at North White Station and Macon Road. Three boys ran from the stolen car and were later found hiding in a backyard on McCrory Avenue.

Police said that one of the teens had a backpack with a stolen back Taurus G3 9mm handgun. MPD said they were the same three teens that led officers on a chase less than an hour earlier. In that case, the teens got away after abandoning a stolen 2006 Toyota Avalon near Elzey Avenue and Cooper Street.

MPD said that the Mustang that led to the eventual arrest of the teens was carjacked at the Guatemala Supermarket on Getwell Road around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Police said two boys got out of a white Toyota Avalon, pulled a gun on a man, and forced him out of his car. About 30-minutes before that carjacking, police said that the boys walked up to a man sitting in his car outside of a home on Southlawn Avenue and pointed a gun at his head, making demands in English that the Spanish-speaking man did not understand.

MPD said that the Toyota Avalon was stolen the day before the teens were arrested. On January 18th, two boys ran up to the car as it sat parked at a Valero Gas Station on Lamar Avenue. The boys allegedly pulled guns on the Spanish-speaking people inside the car. Those people ran off and the teens sped away in the stolen Toyota.

MPD said that a month earlier, the same boys conducted another series of crimes. This string of incidents began around 9:00 p.m. on December 18, 2024, when the boys stole a 2018 Toyota 4Runner at Ming's Chinese Cuisine on Semmes Street. About 30-minutes later, the boys fired three shots at a man at the Super Coin Laundry on Getwell Road and stole $100 from him. MPD said that as the boys sped away, they fired multiple shots at a woman who refused to hand over her money.

Police said the next day, the group of boys approached a group of people standing in front of the Q Mart on Getwell Road, pulled out their guns, and said, "Give me your money!" One of the teens allegedly hit a man in the stomach before stealing $220 from him. Police said the boys then sped away in the stolen white Toyota 4Runner.

The boys are facing a slew of charges related to the crime sprees. One 15-year-old has been charged with four counts of aggravated robbery, four counts of carjacking, attempted first-degree murder, four counts of employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, two counts of attempted aggravated robbery, three counts of reckless endangerment, and evading arrest on foot.

The other 15-year-old was charged with carjacking, attempted aggravated robbery, employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and evading arrest on foot.

The 16-year-old was charged with four counts of aggravated robbery, four counts of carjacking, attempted first-degree murder, four counts of employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, two counts of attempted aggravated robbery, three counts of reckless endangerment, evading arrest on foot, evading arrest in an automobile, reckless driving, no driver's license, financial responsibility, failure to exercise due care while driving, and theft of property less than $2,500 regarding the stolen gun.

They need to give the names of these thugs. They may be minors by age, but if they want to commit adult crimes, they need to do adult time and pay the consequences of an adult. Plain and simple.
