Possible motive revealed in Florida high-rise murder-suicide involving infidelity

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Sabrina Krasniqi, 27, allegedly shot and killed her husband, a 34-year-old day trader Pajtim Krasniqi, before turning the gun on herself in a murder-suicide Wednesday. The victim’s brother Arben “Benny” Krasniqi explained Monday that his sister-in-law was allegedly cheating on his brother and feared a possible divorce if she revealed the affair.

As reported by The New York Post, Krasniqi told the outlet that his family had seen several possible red flags in his brother’s bride prior to her shooting him five times on the balcony of their posh Florida condo. He told reporters that the Westchester County family “saw plenty of signs, and now everything makes sense.”

“But they were in love,” he added, “and never in a million years did we think something like this could happen.”

Benny said, “There was infidelity on her part. She came to a point of guilt or something that she just could not take. My brother wanted a divorce, and she didn’t take that lightly. And she decided to take her own life and, somewhere along the line, she decided to take my brother’s life.”

He described his brother as “a genius,” a day trader from the Bronx who also ventured into real estate and cryptocurrency.

In a Facebook post written shortly after the news broke, the victim’s sister Albana Krasniqi Munrett wrote, “The person he trusted the most, the person he chose to spend his life with was the one who took his away from him. She betrayed him, his love, and his trust. She shattered my family. My siblings and I will never be the same. I’m terrified my mother will not ever recover.”

Law enforcement sources told the Post that neighbors in the building said they heard a loud verbal altercation coming from the couple’s home in the weeks before the shooting. The couple would frequently argue on the balcony as well.

The Hallandale Beach Police Department reportedly responded to the building following a detection of audible gunshots by the city’s ShotSpotter system and found the couple dead on the 45th-floor balcony in pools of blood.
