NEW YORK, NY - A new application dubbed "Protector" has made its debut in app stores and touts to provide personal security services to affluent individuals and executives who need both safe transport and security with an Escalade motorcade.

Reporting from The Hollywood Reporter detailed that the app is currently available on the Apple Store. Like the "Black Wolf" app released by Kerry KingBrown in 2024, Protector has been similarly referred to as “Uber with guns,” by Former Meta product manager Nikita Bier who worked as an advisor to Protector and spoke of it in a post to X.

The application, according to its Apple Store description, offers, “With the click of a button, Protector users can schedule veteran and former law enforcement private security personnel to serve as personal protection when needed,” and is currently live in New York City and Los Angeles.

Per the Reporter, Protector “agents” are either active-duty military personnel with credentials or retired law enforcement officers and service can be customized based on the number of vehicles up to three, (Cadillac Escalades or similar), and the form of uniform the personnel will wear including “business formal, business casual and tactical casual.”

In addition to this security service founder and CEO Nick Sarath also offers “Patrol” service, a private area-based security service for neighborhoods that can be crowd-funded by neighbors.

Bier who also holds a financial stake in the firm told the Reporter, “The demand for elite, experienced, security has never been higher, but the industry has been slow to modernize.”

A January promotional video published to X by the company analyzed the scenario of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s early morning murder which shocked the nation in December. The video shows footage of alleged murderer Luigi Mangione stalking Thopson before firing a suppressed 9mm pistol three times and killing the man.

A voiceover in the video then is heard to intone “Now, we are going to run through a scenario where if a Protector had been present, crisis could have been averted,” before showing several dramatizations featuring a Protector guard who then prevents the attempted murder.

After paying a $129 member fee, users can book the services of a Protector ‘Agent’ for a minimum of five hours at a rate of $1,000. The cost can be split among up to five people.

Great opportunity for ex police and military , they should provide legal council, and medical benefits

Bruce

Legal perhaps, because the company doesn’t want to be sued. Usually 1099 employees. Did executive protection for several years after retirement.

Americans are going to shoot the suit .....
