NEW YORK CITY, NY – The mayor himself is predicting that there will be no end to the migrant crisis and that the continued influx of migrants will “destroy New York City.”

According to Fox News, during a Town Hall meeting on the Upper West Side on Wednesday, September 6th, Mayor Eric Adams said, “Let me tell you something, New Yorkers.

Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City. We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month.”

He added, “We had a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut. Every service in this city is going to be impacted. All of us. It’s going to come to your neighborhoods.

All of us are going to be impacted by this. I said it last year when we had 15,000. I’m telling you now with 110,000. The city we knew we’re about to lose. And we’re all in this together.”

The mayor proceeded to place the blame on Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) and his operation that has been busing migrants from the southern border to self-declared sanctuary jurisdictions.

The U.S federal government is also relocating migrants from the southern border to cities across the country. On Tuesday, September 5th, Abbott said that his state government has bused more than 35,000 migrants to self-declared sanctuary cities.

New York City has received more than 13,300 since August 2022. Abbott has said that Operation Lone Star has filled the “dangerous gaps created by the Biden administration’s refusal to secure the border.”

He said that the busing initiative helps lessen the burden on southern border communities that are very clearly overwhelmed by the mass influx of illegal border-crossers.

During the Town Hall meeting, Adams said, “What happened? It started with a madman down in Texas, decided he wanted to bus people up to New York City. One hundred ten thousand migrants. We have to feed, clothe, house, educate the children, wash their laundry sheets, give them everything they need, health care.

"And this team here, we stated, let’s do everything possible before we have to push it out into neighborhoods and communities. Month after month, I stood up, and I said, ‘This is going to come to a neighborhood near you.'”

In a statement received by Fox News Digital, Abbott’s press secretary, Andrew Mahaleris, said, “The hypocrisy of Mayor Adams is astounding. Mayor Adams was proud to tout his self-described sanctuary city status until Texas began busing migrants to New York City to provide relief to our overrun and overwhelmed border communities.

“With millions of residents, New York is only dealing with a fraction of what our small border communities deal with on a day-to-day basis. Instead of complaining about 13,000 migrants sent from Texas, Mayor Adams should be calling out his party leader, President Biden, who has been flying planeloads of migrants all around the country and oftentimes in the cover of night, straining state and local resources across the country.”

He concluded by saying, “Until President Biden steps up and does his job, Texas will continue busing migrants to sanctuary cities to provide relief to our overwhelmed border towns.”

During the Town Hall meeting, Mayor Adams said that at one time, most migrants arriving to the city were from Venezuela, but now more come from Ecuador, Russia, and West Africa, all of them “coming through Mexico” in an attempt to claim asylum in this country.

“We’re getting no support on this national crisis," Adams said. "Now we are getting people from all over the globe, who have made their minds up that they’re going to come through the southern part of the border and come into New York City.”

He said ominously, “And everyone is saying it’s New York City’s problem. Every community in this city is going to be impacted.”

Funny how his tune has changed now that affecting his city too. Hypocrisy is strong in him!

Scapegoating Hogwash! If he wants to blame someone he can blame the moron who sits in the White House for his Open Border policy. If the border was sealed, there would be no migrants in the first place.

Exactly! That's what those of us who live along the southern border have been saying for years. We need to do something about the flow of illegal immigrants, drugs, and human trafficking coming across the southern border, and it's the federal government's responsibility to do it, not the individual states. As a matter of fact, when any of the border states try to step in and do something about sealing the border, we're reminded by the feds that the states don't have that authority. Either the states have that authority, as Adams is basically claiming here, or we don't, which the feds keep reminding us. They can't have it both ways.

I don't know why my comment was repeated three times!

I've never heard anything intelligent come out of that idiot's mouth ! Truth just doesn't work for him ! Biden's responsible for dereliction of duty over the border crisis ! It's that simple.

All of us who live in southern border states have been saying this for YEARS. We've been called "xenophobic" and "racist" for making such statements and expressing concerns about the financial impact and crime resulting from illegal immigration. It's about time the very people who accused us of being racist have to share our pain.
