In a time when threats to public safety continue to evolve, the men and women of the United States Secret Service once again demonstrated exactly why they are among the most elite protective agencies in the world.

The swift, decisive, and highly coordinated response to the shooting incident connected to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner reflects the level of professionalism, training, and operational readiness that the American people expect and deserve. Incidents like this are unpredictable, fast-moving, and dangerous.

The ability to neutralize a threat, protect dignitaries, and maintain order under pressure is not accidental; it is the result of relentless preparation and unwavering commitment.

Credit must also be given to Director Sean Curran, whose leadership continues to set the tone for excellence across the agency. Effective leadership in moments like this is measured by outcomes, and the outcome here speaks for itself.

The response was disciplined, controlled, and effective, preventing what could have been a far more tragic situation.

Of course that’s not how some fake news tabloids that mask themselves as “journalism” like to portray it.

The Aftermath

In what almost reads like a schizophrenic and unhinged tirade, MSN.com published a hit piece on Trump, Susie Wiles, Kash Patel, Sean Curran and anyone else who seemed to infuriate the reporter simply by breathing.  But the main target?  USSS Director Sean Curran.

Here’s a bit of the lunacy they spewed and tried to pass off as “journalism”:

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles is feeling the heat after yet another gunman came within feet of the president of the United States.

Wiles, 68, was not in attendance at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on Saturday, where a gunman exchanged shots with Secret Service. But some critics are pointing to Wiles—who oversees the Secret Service in her role—for security lapses that put Donald Trump and top administration officials at risk.

A former administration official told RealClear Politics that Wiles, who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, is to blame, after allowing Secret Service Director Sean Curran to remain in his position despite “numerous failures.”

“They’re about to fire Kash, and he had nothing to do with this,” the source told the outlet, referencing reports that Trump is considering ousting FBI Director Kash Patel.

“Susie oversees the Secret Service, and it’s failure after failure after failure, and she gets no blame,” the source added.

Others, however, have said that it wasn’t Wiles, but Trump’s own sons who advocated for Curran, who was sworn in on the president’s second inauguration, to land the top job.

“The guy [Trump] is going to get killed, and everyone will keep their jobs,” the former official told the outlet.

Curran was one of the agents assigned to Trump’s detail on July 13, 2024, when critical security lapses allowed a would-be assassin to open fire on Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, killed one person, severely injured two others, and left the president’s ear bloodied.

The incident, Curran has said, led the agency to take “many steps to ensure such an event can never be repeated in the future.”

Yet in the hours after a gunman stormed the Washington Hilton on Saturday, attendees are calling out a “security fiasco” at the annual event.

“To get down from my room to the dinner, I simply flashed my ticket. It could have been a photocopy,” wrote Daily Beast Executive Editor Hugh Dougherty, who was present when the chaos unfolded. “The only time I went past a checkpoint was at the same magnetometers that Cole Allen, 31, sprinted past with his gun.”

Time To Call Them Out – Reyes, a Former Producer for NBC, Weighs In

Forgive me if, after watching video clips from the aftermath and seeing reporters steal expensive bottles of wine and laugh while taking pictures immediately after the attack, I don’t take anything seriously from a Clinton-linked, far-left publication like Daily Beast.

And you’ve gotta love the “unnamed sources”, right?  Fake news: Let’s see how many people we can try and blame for this – while ignoring the fact that it’s the violent, dangerous and well-documented rhetoric from Democrats that continue to result in assassination attempts on President Trump and violent attacks on conservatives.

It has become far too common to assign blame in the immediate aftermath of incidents like this.  But isn’t it interesting that the “blame” is often assigned by individuals who remain anonymous and removed from the realities on the ground?

It’s even easier to for a media outlet to make up “unnamed sources” and “former officials”, knowing that Supreme Court rulings protect them from having to reveal their sources.  And so if you’ve got an agenda as a liberal media outlet (in this case, to destroy the Trump administration), all you have to do is put your own words in the mouth of a person who doesn’t exist.

The Growing Threat – Silverman On The Need For The Ballroom

The fact is, the United States Secret Service, like all law enforcement agencies, is constantly evolving to address emerging threats. At the same time, the current threat environment surrounding President Donald Trump remains uniquely elevated, requiring an even higher level of vigilance and operational precision.

This incident also underscores the importance of infrastructure designed with security in mind. The proposed ballroom initiative supported by President Donald Trump reflects a forward-looking approach to protective operations. Hosting large-scale events involving high-profile protectees demands controlled environments where security perimeters, access points, and movement can be fully managed.

This is not about convenience, it is about risk mitigation and ensuring the safety of all attendees.

It is also important to recognize that President Donald Trump will likely never have the opportunity to benefit from this ballroom himself. This effort is not about personal use, it is about building a safer environment for future Presidents and future administrations.

It is an investment in long-term security, ensuring that those who come after have the infrastructure necessary to better protect all attendees at high-profile events.

Events like this serve as a reminder of the risks federal law enforcement officers face every day, often without recognition. While others attend high-profile events, these professionals are working behind the scenes, focused solely on protection and mission execution.

And they’re doing it while remaining DEFUNDED by politicians weaponizing a budget process and the families of USSS as political pawns.

So regardless of what the fake news claims about Secret Service, this was a well-executed protective play where the only person wounded was the man who took a bullet for his country – much like President Trump less than one year ago.

This was a job well done, plain and simple.

The United States Secret Service and its law enforcement partners proved once again that when it matters most, they are ready, capable, and unwavering in their duty to protect.

United States Secret Service Director Sean Curran… FBI Director Kash Patel… Susie Wiles… we see you.  We stand behind you.  And from Mathew Silverman, on behalf of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA), and Kyle Reyes, on behalf of Law Enforcement Today and Blue Lives Matter, we salute you and have your six.

Keep up the great work – and may God continue to keep His hand on each of you.
