Since the Biden administration came into office in January 2021, we have seen an explosion in illegals crossing the border, with some estimates putting the number at over ten million. Along with illegal aliens came an increase in violent criminal activity, including fentanyl and human trafficking. Sadly, much of that human trafficking involves children.
Law Enforcement Today became aware of an app called See It, Send It, which is the law-abiding version of Customs and Border Protection’s “CPB One” app. According to company literature, See It, Sent It provides a solution to allow citizens to “manage crime incidents in real-time and receive real-time alerts to designated people within watch groups."
According to the company, there are an estimated 49.6 million trafficking victims worldwide. Human traffickers use many tactics to manipulate and exploit victims, See It, Send It says, “from the initial planning and execution of the scheme to the way in which they coerce, monitor, and maintain individuals to further their exploitative purpose and increase their profits.”
The app, which is available in the Google Play store and the iPhone app store, allows users to download it. It uses technology to save existing victims while preventing others from becoming victims.
The app has an incident reporting feature for reporting crime and potential human trafficking situations directly from the app, notifying a central dispatch center that can then send assistance. Cities and towns can incorporate their 911 system to align with the app and provide an immediate response to potentially violent situations.
The app also includes safety check-ins, where it will notify a specific party of the user’s location and other information. The app can also provide incident analysis data to community watch groups so they can track crime in their watch area, which can help communities develop proactive and preventive security measures.
Following are some of the app’s features:
GuardMe- frequent remote safety monitoring, sharing location and safety information, and configuring emergency notifications for immediate assistance. This feature allows members to request remote agents to monitor their location, safety status, and emergency contacts.
911 Integration—Instantly notify the nearest emergency call center. The SOS button shares your emergency information and location. There is no need to repeat details, as help is immediately dispatched.
Incident Management—Use See It, Send It to quickly report incidents and instantaneously collaborate with organization members. Respond efficiently, make informed decisions, and improve safety. This feature allows employees to report maintenance and security concerns directly to maintenance and/or security staff so that issues can be quickly resolved.
SOS- Emergency? Need help? Activate the SOS button to notify supervisors, organization leadership, and 911 of your location and emergency contacts. If your organization has 911 integration enabled, the SOS button informs the nearest 911 call center in your location, and they will contact the holder to get further information on the emergency.
Dispatch- Improve your incident management with Dispatch. Automatically assign incidents, deploy resources effectively, and gain valuable insights for proactive decision making.
Check In- Check In enables location reporting for peace of mind and situational awareness. With Check-In Requests, organizations can request employee presence at specific locations at specific times. It allows members to report their current location, giving leaders peace of mind while providing situational awareness regarding the employee’s exact whereabouts. This feature is an excellent means to set up muster points for employees during emergency drills or daily check-ins at work sites. This feature is designed for any organization that requires full accountability of employee’s whereabouts at any given moment. It’s also a great tool to supplement additional resources for drill exercises, fire drills, lockdown drills, or active shooter drills.
