PHOENIX, AZ - Multiple arrests have been made after local police detectives and federal agents spent almost a year on what was deemed Operation Night Owl.
Along with Phoenix Police Department (PPD) Detectives, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) conducted the operation meant to focus on both US and international suppliers of illegal drugs. California, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada law enforcement were also involved.
Police say 17 arrests were made as a part of the operation. Additionally seized were two million fentanyl pills, 46.3 pounds of fentanyl powder, 18.7 pounds of cocaine, 133 pounds of methamphetamine, 12.6 pounds of heroin, $75,000 in U.S. currency, 12 vehicles and 15 firearms.
The nearly year-long sting saw approximately 3,000 hours of surveillance footage. Over 200 court orders and search warrants were requested, including those seeking suspects who were arrested.
