Tren de Aragua Illegal immigrant arrested for assaulting mom, daughter was previously arrested, released after three days

MADISON, WI - Alejandro Coronel-Zarate, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela and suspected member of the terrorist gang Tren de Aragua who was arrested in late September for brutally assaulting a Wisconsin mother and daughter was reportedly arrested previously in November 2023, and was released just three days later.

As reported by Alpha News, Coronel-Zarate was only in custody for three days before being released into the community. This, despite the Madison Police Department having already established probable cause he had strangled the same woman he later was accused of strangling, sexually assaulting, threatened to burn, and kill. This is also the same woman he was living with and whose daughter he abused.

As previously noted by Law Enforcement Today, Prairie du Chien Police Chief Kyle Teynor told reporters that the woman and child were both assaulted "under particularly brutal circumstances." His release seems to confirm a chilling boast Coronel-Zarate allegedly made per the complaint when "he said 'I get away with it. I'm a criminal,
'" according to the woman he victimized.

Despite the illegal immigrant facing serious charges of "2nd Degree Sexual Assault/Use of Force and Child Abuse, he was also charged with two counts of Battery, one count of Strangulation, and one count of Disorderly Conduct," according to WXOW. Even so, he was reportedly released on bond with Wisconsin Right Now observing that the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department has an active "sanctuary" policy and does not cooperate with ICE detainer requests. There is no indication that ICE was ever notified of Coronel-Zarate's arrest.

On September 23, Libs of TikTok shared the story, writing, "Coronel Zarate, a member of Venezuela's Tren de Aragua gang was arrested for s*xually assaulting a mother and ab*sing her daughter in the small Wisconsin town of Prairie du Chien. He came through the border in 2023 and was released into our country by the Biden-Harris admin."
