MINOCQUA, WI - Conservative talk show host Michael Savage once coined the phrase, “Liberalism is a mental disorder.” Nowhere is that statement more accurate than when speaking about Kirk Bangstad, owner of the Minocqua Brewing Company and founder of a political action committee supporting progressive politics, who advocates for the murder of political opponents.
Bangstad, who appears to be a couple fries short of a Happy Meal, fancies himself a comedian and thinks killing people you disagree with politically is hilarious. Only an unhinged dimwit would feel that way, but as we’ve seen over the past couple of years, liberals are completely fine with illegal aliens raping and killing women and children while praying for the death of conservatives.
How else can you justify the killing of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare by an unhinged pretty boy, who became a cause celebre after shooting a married father of two in the back of the head on a New York City street?
Conservatives were 100% opposed to the policies of Barack Obama and were certainly disgusted by Joe Biden allowing over ten million illegal aliens into the country to run roughshod over it. Yet any mention of someone assassinating either one or wishing death upon them was met with derision by all but the most crazed right-wing conservatives.
In January, Bangstad, who looks like someone who hangs around street corners wearing nothing but a raincoat, posted on Facebook that his brewery would sell free beer “all day long, the day he dies,” in what most understood was a reference to President Trump. “Show us this post when it happens in a few months, and we’ll make good on that promise.”
After this past weekend’s apparent attempt to assassinate President Trump and members of his administration at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Bangstad, who apparently has zero self-awareness, doubled down on his January post.
“Well, we almost got #freebeerday. Either a brother or sister in the Resistance needs to work on their marksmanship, or he faked another assassination to get a positive news cycle,” the brewery posted on its Facebook page, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

Aside from the pure evil of hitting send after writing that post, it raises another question in light of his previous post. Perhaps the FBI should speak to Bangstad since he seemed to know that another attempt would be made “in a few months.” Seems like he’d be worth speaking to.
In a normal society, Bangstad’s brewery would have shut down within a week, but in a country bitterly divided along ideological lines, that, sadly, is not the case. Instead, acting much as a five-year-old kindergarten student would, Bangstad’s brewery sells voodoo dolls featuring the president’s face. Pretty mature for a grown man.
In January, Bangstad told Fox News that he would welcome anyone to celebrate the “impending death of a twice-impeached convicted felon covering up for the largest child sex ring in the history of the United States–someone who has enabled his contemporary American Gestapo to brutally murder two American protesters in a matter of a week.”
That was, of course, a reference to two Minneapolis anti-ICE protesters, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were shot and killed by ICE agents. Good was shot while attempting to run down an ICE agent, while Pretti was shot while violently resisting ICE agents. The “child sex ring” refers to Jeffrey Epstein, and any connection between President Trump and Epstein has been completely debunked. The two impeachments were politically motivated witch hunts conducted by partisan Democrats.
It appears, however, that Wisconsin’s state Democratic Party has seen enough of Bangstad’s crazy antics and has denounced him over the post he made promoting Trump’s assassination in lieu of this past weekend’s incident.
Despite Bangstad being a prolific fundraiser for the state party and former candidate for state assembly, a spokesman said his “rhetoric is completely unacceptable and should be retracted immediately.”
“We’re not afraid to call out this sort of inappropriate behavior, no matter where it comes from–our GOP colleagues should do the same,” state Democratic Party spokesman Phil Shulman said in a statement.
Perhaps Shulman should remind us all when a noteworthy Republican called for the assassination of someone like Obama, Biden, or any other leading Democrat.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reached out to Bangstad for comment, but the clearly unstable Bangstad shot back on Facebook and slammed Democrats who criticized his post, and said he stood by his previous comments, once again linking to merchandise for sale promoting Trump’s death.
“Our celebration of life is going to be legendary!” he wrote in the post.
It's important to add that Bangstad may also have criminal tendencies. According to a Reddit post, Bangstad was allegedly arrested for a violation of a harassment restraining order and misdemeanor defamation. Also, according to WJFW, Bangstad was arrested in June 2025 for disorderly conduct, harassment, and bail jumping. On April 14, he accepted a plea deal. Of course, Bangstad blamed "fascism" for his arrest.
Bangstad was also engaged in a five-year zoning battle with the city of Minocqua, which he eventually prevailed in.
