NEW YORK, NY - A Venezuelan national who arrived in New York city just two months ago has wreaked havoc on New Yorkers, racking up 14 different charges on six separate arrests.

Daniel Martinez-Hernandez arrived in the city that never sleeps on June 27th and began committing his alleged crimes just one day after his arrival. The 29-year-old Venezuelan has racked up an array of charges since arriving on American soil.

Allegedly, Martinez -Hernandez has assaulted two random New Yorkers not known to him, and two New York City cops.

One New York City officer with more than 20 years of service was quoted as saying, ‘’This is not an isolated incident. These migrants are getting arrested quite often here, and we really don’t know who they are. They don’t really have identification. They are not being vetted properly, but some of them are committing some of the most violent crimes here.’’

On July 31st, Martinez-Hernandez is being accused of attacking an individual using a bike tire and was immediately released on Recognizance.

Just three weeks later, on August 21st, the Venezuelan was accused of attacking a woman. No further details on that charge are available but Martinez-Hernandez was given supervised release.

A week later, on August 28th, Martinez-Hernandez was seen trying to break the locks off of bicycles with a steel pipe. The would-be bike thief was arrested and booked into jail.

While awaiting another bail hearing, Martinez-Hernandez allegedly assaulted a police officer while in custody.

The bail eventually did come through, and even with the assault, Martinez-Hernandez bond was set at $10,000 that he couldn’t pay. He is currently sitting out the long, Labor Day weekend at Rikers Island.

Unfortunately for the citizens there, New York city is a sanctuary city, which diminishes the chance that he will see significant punishment up to deportation for the crimes.

New Yorkers (who overwhelming vote democrat) took to the popular social media website Reddit to express their thoughts about Martinez-Hernandez’s wave of crime.

"He should get deported, obviously!" said one user.

"If the [Independent Sentinel] article tells you anything, it’s how bad our justice system is in NYC. Reading how many times he was arrested and let go is insane. Considering, one of those times he pulled a large knife on an undercover officer," said another.

"Imagine trying to make the move to America, setting up your appointments at the embassy, submitting countless amount of paperwork and forms, paying all the fees in the thousands of dollars, waiting all those years (and the wait list is very long) all to see stuff like this," another person said.
