As the owner of the largest police news outlet in the world - The 1776 Project, which owns Law Enforcement Today, Blue Lives Matter and other platforms... I've seen some royally stupid moves in the last decade. But this one takes the cake.
Imagine passing your group off as a police organization... only to sell your soul, piss off your supporters and endorse the very person who hates cops. It's like the people running things woke up with a bad cheap wine hangover and mixed up a cocktail of TDS and liberal tears to try and get through their day. But on behalf of our nearly five million followers... let me say this: that hangover headache is about to get much worse.
When the Virginia Police Benevolent Association (PBA) announced its endorsement of Abigail Spanberger, law enforcement officers, deputies, and their families across the Commonwealth were blindsided — and rightly outraged. This decision wasn’t just a misstep. It was a direct betrayal of the men and women the PBA claims to represent.
Abigail Spanberger has consistently aligned herself against law enforcement. For the PBA to throw its support behind her is not only baffling — it is reckless, tone-deaf, and dangerous.
What makes this move even more suspicious is the history behind it: in a prior race, the Virginia PBA refused to endorse Spanberger. So what has changed? Her ideology hasn’t. What has changed is that someone, somewhere, is benefiting from this, and it isn’t the officers of the Commonwealth.
Spanberger’s policies and rhetoric only embolden criminals and incite political violence, and her running mate openly promotes attacks against police officers and political opponents. If the Virginia PBA wants Richmond to look like Portland, they are on the fast track.
Last week, we called out the Virginia PBA in this article and they were triggered into a complete meltdown, demanding that we issue a retraction. We told them we'd be more than happy to explain why they'd endorse an anti-ICE, anti-police zealot. Their response? Big surprise: crickets.
We Back Blue, a nationwide police advocacy organization that I'm on the advisory board of, attempted to mediate. The goal was simple: meet with PBA leadership, discuss the endorsement, and correct a possible misstep. There was still a chance to do the right thing — to withdraw the endorsement or at least endorse no one.
The PBA refused. They went silent. No explanation, no acknowledgment, no accountability. Silence is a response — and it speaks volumes. They literally had an opportunity to sit down with senior leadership to address their grievances. But much like the moment that Law Enforcement Today called them out and their spine collapsed... they just shut down.
There's entitled... and then there's this. It's like watching a scolded toddler stomp their feet and throw themselves on the ground of the grocery store because mommy didn't buy cookies for the child.
Seeing no other option, We Back Blue turned to its members, Virginia law enforcement allies, and people all across the Commonwealth to document the outrage. Hundreds responded, expressing their anger, disappointment, and disbelief — the very members the PBA claims to represent.
Sample Survey Respondents (Oct 10, 2025):

Members’ comments were sharp, unambiguous, and damning:
1. “The PBA’s endorsement of Abigail Spanberger is disgraceful. She is anti-law enforcement and pushes dangerous and disgusting ideologies. For the PBA to endorse her is beyond my imagination. If the endorsement is not immediately and very publicly withdrawn, I and many others will be canceling our memberships. You are supposed to fight for law enforcement and law and order.”
2. “I’m really disappointed the PBA didn’t follow suit with the FOP requesting Jones drop out of the race. It makes me think it’s some hidden promises that were made to the PBA. The PBA needs to be involved in law enforcement, not politics.”
3. “My Dad was a Police Officer, my Brother is a Deputy, and I was a civilian with the Police Department, and I am begging you not to endorse Abigail Spanberger.”
4. “Spanberger does not have the endorsement of most cops! Fuck the PBA for taking my union dues for decades and then donating to a lying Democrat whose only use to you is that she wants to abolish Virginia as a right-to-work state. If the PBA wants to make endorsements that appear to be on behalf of its membership, then it should poll its membership and report the results. When you endorse, it’s only on behalf of a majority of board members (who are paid) and not on behalf of membership, so the PBA is making a political lie! You lying, self-dealing shits! Go unfuck what you have done.”
5. “I’ve been a PBA member for over 15 years, and I am disappointed in the fact that they would back a candidate that wants to take protections away from law enforcement and mess with my livelihood and my family.”
6. “This endorsement is a disgrace to the LE community, current and former. LE must stand for laws, right over wrong, regardless of politics.”
7. “I respectfully urge the PBA to withdraw this endorsement and stand with those who risk their lives every day to protect this Commonwealth.”
8. “This woman has no business in an elected position. Her ideologies are against everything law enforcement provides. She is for the criminal, not the victim. She sides with the mutualization of our kids. And she has publicly stated that the freedom of speech is strictly one-sided. I am very disappointed in the PBA in this endorsement, and I will pull my membership immediately. I cannot condone an organization that is willing to support this type of ideology.”
9. “The PBA's stance on this matter is troubling and does not align with Public Safety, nor common sense in the Commonwealth. I would urge all officers to cancel their affiliation with this group.”
These are just a small selection out of the hundreds of messages sent on behalf of the PBA membership urging leadership to withdraw this reckless endorsement. But will they listen? Probably not.
The leadership of this organization has gone astray. What was once a balanced and common-sense approach from past leadership has now devolved into childish behavior, using vendettas against an administration that gave them a voice they never had before. This chapter is now known for being disrespectful, isolating themselves, and then crying foul when others with business etiquette don’t give them a seat at the table.
It’s time to ask the hard question: Where do officers turn for backing that will truly serve their interests? Sadly, it is certainly not this organization.
Trust is earned, not demanded. The Virginia PBA has broken that trust with the very members who built it, and now they will have to answer — not to politicians, but to the people they betrayed.
Of course it's fitting that the Virginia PBA would endorse the party encouraging men to cut off their balls… because that’s effectively what the PBA leadership did here.

I would strongly suggest they join the "Fraternal Order of Police". It appears the PBA, has lost their way.
