Wisconsin Cop Fallen in Line of Duty Honored at Star-Studded Fundraiser Event

MILWAUKEE, WI - A fundraiser has been organized to honor fallen Milwaukee police Officer Kendall Corder, who was shot in the line of duty in June.

Milwaukee entrepreneur Omar Shaikh is organizing the fundraiser, which is set to take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on July 23rd at Venue 3, adjacent to Third Street Market Hall, WISN reported. Shaikh is no stranger to organizing fundraisers for local causes and is bringing together several prominent Wisconsin organizations to help support the Corder family.

"We have great partners like Summerfest, Milwaukee Bucks, Packers, Brewers, they're all stepping up and giving some experiences for a four-item auction," he said. Shaikh said that the Packers coach, Matt LaFleur has offered four tickets, four pregame passes, four tours of the Hall of Fame, and a picture with him on the field, as a donation to the event.

Every penny raised will go to the Milwaukee Police Association Fallen Heroes Fund in Officer Corder's name. "All the money goes right to the family of Officer Corder. He has a father, brother, and a sister," said Milwaukee Police Association Vice President Joel Moeller. "To help them with any financial hardships they've had, if they've had to take off work the last few weeks to deal with all this."

Corder died on June 29th, three days after being shot in the line of duty. Moeller emphasized the importance of these donations. "It's hard to describe, put in dollars and cents, you don't want to have to worry about cooking a meal or going to the grocery store, so if we can get them a meal or raise them some money so they can just order out," he said.

Tickets for the event are $100 each, including food and an open bar. Only those who purchase tickets will be able to bid on the auction items.
