How This Porn Star’s “BangBus” Triggered a Major Morality Crackdown

INDONESIA – A 26-year-old woman from the United Kingdom notorious for creating pornographic content was arrested in Indonesia earlier in December under suspicion of violating the country’s morality laws. The woman, whose reputation precedes her due to her antics generating worldwide publicity, potentially faces 15 years behind bars if criminal charges are pursued.

Bonnie Blue, whose real name is Tia Billinger, was reportedly arrested by authorities in Bali on December 5th, alongside approximately 17 other men in her company, under suspicion of producing pornographic content. Indonesian authorities claim Blue was producing said content in her “BangBus” van, which was seized by police as well as other evidence such as condoms, lubricant, sex toys, and Viagra pills.

Out of the 17 others arrested, Indonesian authorities confirmed 14 of the individuals, who are all presumed to be Australian, were released by authorities relatively quickly and are awaiting deportation. However, Blue and three men allegedly part of her production team were held in custody slightly longer, with Badung Police Chief Arif Batubara confirming police handed the four over to immigration authorities before she and her team were granted release back to their hotel.

While Blue is currently not in immigration or police custody, this doesn’t mean she’s clear of the potential criminal charges, as Chief Batubara told the press that the criminal investigation is “still ongoing.” Blue was issued a summons where she’s expected to appear before immigration authorities on or before December 11th, with Indonesian authorities still debating on how and if to pursue the criminal charges.

Legal experts within Indonesia are torn on whether Blue will face prison time or simply be deported, with Bali-based lawyer Krist Andi Ricardo Turnip noting that if she’s “proven to have created, displayed or distributed pornographic content in Indonesia,” then she may very well spend over a decade behind bars.

According to reports, the maximum penalty for the outlined offense carries a 15-year prison sentence as well as a fine of 6 billion rupiah, which converts to slightly over $370,000.
