Democrat mayor who called Transportation Secretary Buttigieg his "mentor" gets 30 years in prison for distributing child porn

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD- A former Democrat mayor in Maryland, who has referred to Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg as his “mentor,” will not see the light of day as a free man for a long time, The Daily Wire reports.

Patrick Wojahn, the former mayor of College Park, Maryland, and a favorite of leftists, was forced to resign in March as child pornography allegations swirled around him. He claimed he did so to address “mental health” issues.

“I am stepping away to deal with my own mental health. I ask that you continue to keep me and my family in your prayers.”

He was arrested the next day. This week, he learned his fate when he was sentenced to 30 years in prison for possessing and distributing child sex abuse materials.

College Park is a suburb outside Washington, D.C., and is home to the University of Maryland.

In August, Wojahn, 48, pleaded guilty to 140 counts related to possessing and distributing child sex abuse materials, according to court records. The charges contained in the indictment included both misdemeanors and felonies, some of which have penalties of a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Prince George’s County Circuit Judge Karen H. Mason sentenced Wojahn to 150 years in prison, suspended after 30 years when he will have to serve a term of probation of five years. If he violates probation, he could return to prison for the additional theoretical 120 years, the Baltimore Sun reported. Wojahn will also have to register as a sex offender.

It isn’t expected that Wojahn will have to serve anywhere close to 30 years in prison since those convicted of “non-violent” crimes are eligible for parole after serving only 25% of their sentence.

County law enforcement officials were tipped off to Wojahn’s “hobby” in February by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which told them about a social media account, “skippy_md,” that uploaded child pornography to the messaging app Kik in January.

Investigators traced the Kik account to Wojahn’s government email address and later executed a search warrant at his home, where they seized several electronic devices, including three cell phones.

Wojahn admitted he owned the social media accounts to detectives while searching his house.

Authorities found videos and images of over 500 children stored on his cellphone, Assistant State’s Attorney Monica Meyers said at a press conference. Detectives and prosecutors were able to identify 52 of the exploited children, with several submitting victim impact statements that were read aloud by prosecutors in court.

“It instructs us that child pornography is not simply about images. It’s about the pain behind the images, the tragedies that have occurred in these young people’s lives that should never have happened to them,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy said at a news conference after the sentencing.

She said that “no child deserves to be sexually abused; no child deserves for their images to be displayed on the internet or on any platform for hundreds or thousands or possibly millions of people to view.”

Before being outed as a pedophile, Wojahn was serving his second term as mayor of the college community. Before that, he served eight years on the city council. He is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center.

In a gushing description of Buttigieg as his mentor, Wojahn said:

“I actually met Mayor Pete Buttigieg shortly after I was elected mayor in 2015,” Wojahn told the Washington Blade, a gay news site in 2019. “I went to the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Winter Meeting in D.C. in January, and he was assigned to be my buddy.”

“I now serve in a leadership role as vice chair of city livability and bicycling in part due to his mentorship,’ Wojahn told the paper.

Wojahn, who, like Buttigieg, is gay and married to a dude, has visited the White House several times since the installation of Joe Biden and has been seen consorting with then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland), and former chair of the Democratic National Committee Tom Perez.

He is also a longtime donor to Democratic candidates and committees.

After being sentenced, Wojahn expressed remorse, saying, “From the bottom of my heart, I recognize the damage that I have caused. And I am truly, truly sorry.”

Another Operative of The Democrat Communist Criminal Terrorist Organization, bites the dust. I believe he should have received 50 Years, hopefully he will be placed in the general population.

Looks like a regular dude. It’s always the ones you don’t expect. Clean-cut mayors. I guess they are under a microscope. Not that that excuses the behavior.
