Florida Family Confronts USPS Worker Who Tried To Mow Down Their Child

ENSLEY, FL – A 41-year-old U.S. Postal Service worker was arrested in Florida this past December after authorities allege he attempted to hit a 10-year-old boy with his work truck after seemingly mistaking the child as trying to pilfer a package he delivered to the incorrect address.

According to authorities, USPS employee William White was working his route on December 27th along Kingfisher Way when he allegedly delivered a package to the wrong address. After White dropped the aforementioned package off, authorities say a 10-year-old who resides at the home the package was erroneously dropped off at retrieved the parcel and attempted to take it to the correct address.

White, who reportedly believed the child was trying to steal the package, allegedly drove his work vehicle toward the child, striking the child’s scooter. The child was reportedly able to get out of the way before the collision between the USPS vehicle and the scooter. After the collision, authorities say White then placed the scooter inside of his work vehicle and proceeded to drive off.

A family member of the child reportedly tailed White’s work vehicle in an effort to confront the postal worker, with White allegedly tossing the scooter out of his work vehicle into a yard located along Blue Jay Way.

On December 31st, White reported to work where he was interviewed by authorities and taken into custody on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, petit theft and criminal mischief. Escambia County Jail records show White was released the same day of his arrest after reportedly posting $5,500 for his bond.

The U.S. Postal Service issued a statement in light of White’s charges, confirming he’d been with the outfit since 2025, and their law enforcement apparatus is actively investigating the incident.

“The U.S. Postal Service takes the safety and well-being of our customers and employees seriously. The Postal Inspection Service, the law enforcement arm of the Postal Service, is actively investigating this issue in partnership with local law enforcement,” the USPS statement reads, adding, “We can confirm that the individual has been employed [since] 2025. The Postal Service does not publicly comment on personnel matters.”

With all the porch pirates lately, it's understandable that he might suspect that. At the same time, you don't run over a kid with a vehicle. He should have stopped the kid and investigated what was going on.

Understandable my ass! This IS NOT his place to determine! He should have stopped and call the police.

James

If this were my kid Mr. Mailman would not be looking so good right now!!!
