LOS ANGELES, CA- An unhinged Los Angeles city council member, with no proof whatsoever, is accusing home improvement giant Home Depot of being “complicit” in raids on illegal aliens, Fox News Digital reports. As a result, council member Ysabel Jurado is opposing the company’s plans to open a new superstore in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of LA.
“Take your orange aprons somewhere else. Home Depot has no place in Eagle Rock,” Jurado bloviated on Instagram.

Jurado apparently favors an empty Macy’s store over a job-generating home improvement store the company has planned in Eagle Rock Plaza, according to planning documents filed with the city’s planning department. Recall that Democrats accuse Republicans, President Trump in particular, of being “job killers.”
According to Jurado, she claims without basis that Home Depot is complicit with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids at their locations because the company has not spoken out against them.
Jurado got her shorts in a bunch after an ICE raid took place at a Home Depot location in Westlake, CA., last week. She claimed it was the fourth such raid at that store since June.
“These raids are part of a disturbing pattern across Los Angeles, with ICE repeatedly targeting Home Depot parking lots–common gathering spots for day laborers–without judicial warrants, in clear violations of people’s rights. And yet, Home Depot has remained silent,” Jurado wailed.
According to surveillance video posted by the Los Angeles Times, it appears to show a black van pulling up alongside street vendors across from Home Depot.
Federal agents brandishing rifles and wearing tactical gear emerged from the van, as numerous street vendors, illegals no doubt, fled the scene.
Federal agents pursued and deployed what appeared to be tear gas. At least 15 people were arrested, the LA Times reported.
The Westlake store was the site of “Operation Trojan Horse,” where federal agents removed from a Penske rental truck and arrested more than a dozen illegal aliens on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
That raid came after a rogue appeals court upheld a temporary restraining order against “indiscriminate” immigration enforcement in LA and other parts of California, a sanctuary state that has defied federal immigration laws.
In June, the president deployed nearly 5,000 troops to LA after massive anti-ICE riots shook the city.
Over 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines were sent to the city to stem the uprising, which saw vehicles and American flags set on fire and law enforcement attacked with heavy objects, some of it staged likely at the behest of radical leftist groups.
“When your name becomes associated with terror, and you refuse to speak, you become complicit. Home Depot has chosen power and profit over the working people who sustain it,” Jurado continued.
Home Depot denies any complicity with the ICE operations, telling Fox News Digital the company isn’t notified of ICE activities.
“We aren’t notified that ICE activities are going to happen, and we’re not requesting them. In many cases, we don’t know that arrests have taken place until after they’re over. We’re required to follow all federal and local rules and regulations in every market where we operate,” a Home Depot representative told Fox.
Jurado herself is the daughter of illegal Filipino aliens, according to her city council biography. She has insisted she will oppose the construction of the new Home Depot, claiming it will bring “violence” to her district.
“I unequivocally opposed Home Depot coming to Eagle Rock Plaza, a mall that has been a gathering place for the Filipino community in Los Angeles. I will not allow violence to take root in our neighborhoods. Our communities deserve safety, dignity, and businesses that fight for the people, not against them,” Jurado wrote.
As a point of information, there is no record of Jurado speaking out against the “violence” that took “root” in Los Angeles in the aftermath of the George Floyd overdose death, nor the violence against police officers back in June. It is unknown how Jurado defines “violence.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Jurado for comment, however, she did not respond.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, the Department of Homeland Security said:
“On August 28, Border Patrol conducted a targeted operation near 1675 Wilshire Blvd., in Los Angeles, California. During the operation, eight individuals were arrested–including six illegal aliens from Guatemala, one illegal alien from El Salvador, and one illegal alien from Mexico.
“Three of those arrested had extensive rap sheets for crimes including visa overstay, possession of a controlled substance, and grand theft. One individual also had a final order of deportation from an immigration judge. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, if you break the law, you will face the consequences. Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S.,” the statement added.
