Is “America’s Top Cop” Michael Letts – Really America’s Top Fraudster?

His name is Michael Letts.  He’s married to Karen Letts.  He goes on national news outlets making sure they refer to him as “America’s Top Cop”.  He’s run a successful non-profit called InVest USA, raising MILLIONS of dollars from generous people like you who believe you’re donating to put active shooter vests on officers who aren’t provided them by the agency and who can’t afford to buy them.

And he is NOT what you believe he is.

Let’s start with this: on his website, he claims he’s donated 17,100+ vests with the more than $7 million that he says has been donated.  Go ahead and ask him for proof of that.

We own the marketing agency that handled his content for about a year.  In that year, we saw massive donations pour in.  And we can count on one hand the number of vests we witnessed be donated – because we were the ones who handled the coverage.

Why exactly did Michael hire us?  For video content and positive press about the work he was doing.  Considering the work we do to support law enforcement, it was a natural fit.

Later on, he made it clear and in no uncertain terms that he needed to help bury negative coverage about him that he insisted came from lies by his ex-wife.  What was that negative coverage?

They were news articles based on publicly available information that he was arrested for allegedly raping his own daughter.

We found out later he was also arrested on shoplifting charges.  And a few months ago we spoke with the sheriff who had him arrested – who assured us that we had been duped by Letts.  He confirmed our fears, suggesting that everything we’d been told by Michael Letts was a lie. He also shared with us a story alleging that Letts didn’t start the non-profit like he claimed.

If that’s not disturbing enough… how about this?  Now that Letts has been exposed, he and his wife have launched a new “subsidiary”.  It’s called Broken Arrow Children’s Ranch: A Safe Haven For Abused And Exploited Children.

It includes an AI enhanced photo of Michael and Karen surrounded by presumably sexually abused and exploited children.  How’s that for infuriating irony?

Letts

Karen, who regularly tells people that an “armed drone” follows Michael everywhere he goes for “protection from the cartels”, also insists – along with non-profit partner Chip Dupre – that Michael “was SF”, “longtime law enforcement”, “a police chaplain” and is “best friends with Trump”.

Except… a private investigator we hired could find NO evidence that Michael served in the military, is a legitimate police chaplain or was EVER in law enforcement.  Michael, for his part, drives what appears to be an unmarked police vehicle with a ballistic vest labeled POLICE hanging in the back seat.

The story gets worse and worse – but we’ll simply allow you to read the bulk of the lawsuit for yourself.  From Letts effectively begging for government jobs to outrageous hacking claims, there’s a LOT you’re going to want to read.

It's also worth noting that a ballistic vest expert recently rated what Letts claimed was a "titanium rifle-rated vest" that he allegedly gives out to protect officers from active shooters and the vests were DESTROYED with what would end up being likely being FATAL rifle rounds if an officer were hit with them.

"The armor plate wasn’t titanium. A magnet stuck to it like glue. It was a steel plate. A 250 grain 338 LaPua Magnum round shot from 100 yards away drilled a perfect hole through the plate. 338 LaPua Magnum has almost exactly half the kinetic energy [measure in foot pounds of energy] that a 50 cal BMG does, which Letts said the plate would defeat from a penetration standpoint. That clearly was a massive exaggeration."

The Silent Partner Marketing, a partner company of The 1776 Project (which owns Law Enforcement Today, Blue Lives Matter, etc.) has filed a lawsuit against the non-profit and its leaders, asserting a pattern of fraud, deception, conspiracy, manipulation and lies.  And a number of other companies have already come forward saying they believed they were "conned".  You can read the lawsuit here.

If you are one of those individuals or companies, please reach out to kyle@thesilentpartnermarketing.com so we can connect you with our legal team.

On behalf of our organizations, I'd like to personally apologize for ever promoting and supporting a non-profit and individual that I truly believed was helping save the lives of officers.

We're NOT proud to admit we were duped - and quite frankly, from a reputation perspective, we would have been better staying quiet about this.  But in a world where the line between right and wrong is often blurred... and in a battle of good vs. evil... we will ALWAYS own our mistakes and our families.  We will do better in the future.

We hope to bring an end to the injustice, to prevent more people from getting duped, and to make sure that officers who may have received vests believing they'd stop rifle rounds have those vests actually checked.

Turns out you don't know what you don't know sometimes.
