ONTARIO, CA – The Kingston Police Department out of Ontario, Canada, is reportedly partnering up with multinational coffeehouse brand Tim Hortons later in January for a fundraising effort to benefit the Special Olympics.
Come January 30th, Tim Hortons locations will be offering up a limited edition Special Olympics donut, with proceeds from the sales going directly toward the support of athletes affiliated with the Special Olympics. The Kingston Police Department is also joining in on the effort, helping to drive awareness of the limited edition offering from the coffeehouse chain.
According to Tim Hortons, 100 percent of the proceeds from sales are benefitting “Special Olympics programs in the communities across the province,” with the campaign taking place between January 30th and February 1st.
The Kingston Police Department issued their own press release highlighting the multi-day fundraising campaign, calling on Canadians across the province to help “create a better tomorrow” by indulging in a confectionary for a good cause.
“As a longtime supporter of Special Olympics, Tim Hortons continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusion, from supporting youth programs such as ActiveStart and FUNdamentals, to contributing to national games and local initiatives across the country. This partnership helps raise both critical funds and awareness for the Special Olympics movement,” the Kingston Police press release reads, adding, “We can create a better tomorrow when we #ChooseToInclude today.”
Police departments partnering with various organizations and brands to help support Special Olympics programs is not exclusive to the U.S.’s northern neighbors, as Law Enforcement Today has previously reported on numerous similar fundraisers that have occurred here stateside.
