SEATTLE, WA – A detention center out of Seattle is facing intense scrutiny after reports surfaced that the jail hired illegal aliens to work as corrections officers, which is a violation of state law. While jail officials have asserted these hirings occurred in error, there are currently no plans in motion to dismiss the illegally hired corrections officers.
The King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention’s (DAJD) illegal immigrant hiring debacle first came to light following an allegation made by a whistleblower who asserted the jail “had hired as many as 100 illegal aliens.” According to Washington state law, only “a citizen of the United States of America, lawful permanent resident, or deferred action for childhood arrivals recipient” can be eligible to become a corrections officer.
While the DAJD didn’t concede to harboring approximately 100 illegal alien employees, the department “has publicly acknowledged that at least 38 of its corrections officers were hired and certified despite failing to meet the immigration eligibility requirement under state law,” according to a report from Seattle Red 770 AM.
The department maintains that these corrections officers were somehow overlooked during the onboarding process and were hired in error, but the department is also not going to immediately terminate all of these corrections officers.
“To ensure the integrity of jail operations and the safety of our staff and those in our custody, most of the officers continue to work their assigned shifts while we have ongoing conversations with the [Criminal Justice Training Commission] about next steps,” the DAJD noted in a statement, adding, “All officers who continue to perform duties have completed full training through the CJTC.”
In a bid to seemingly defend these illegally hired corrections officers, the DAJD noted that all illegally hired persons were “fully trained as corrections officers and authorized to work in the United States,” yet state law is quite clear that mere visa holders with work permits cannot be endowed with either a peace or corrections officer certification.
Seattle Red radio host Jason Rantz says there are rumors circulating that the DAJD “is seeking to work with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office to challenge the statute so that visa-holders can be hired,” pointing out that the department would neither confirm nor deny the validity of these rumors.
With the department also having released statements noting, “We are keeping all available avenues of relief open at this time,” the statement suggests from the “all available” notion mentioned that an effort to change or reinterpret state law could very well be on the table. While a majority of these illegally hired correctional officers remain at their positions in the DAJD, at least the Criminal Justice Training Commission has been proactively dismissing recruits erroneously accepted into the corrections officer training academy.

All in the hands of the crooked leftie governor, who is responsible for horrendous irresponsibility in the state of Washington, and until the traitors who support him and his ilk stand up and remove the fungus swiveling on their office chairs, all will be lost. Yay, God, yay, God, thanks.
