A Violent Weekend in Baltimore: Juvenile Wounded in Essex, Deadly Home Shooting Hours Later

ESSEX, MD - On Saturday evening, December 6, a juvenile was shot in Essex. Baltimore County police said that the shooting happened around 4:45 p.m., in the 1700 block of Eastern Boulevard.

Officers initially responded to the area for a reported assault at a business, but upon arriving on scene, police found a male juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound, FOX5 News reported. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

As of this writing, the extent of the victim's injuries is unknown. Police said the suspect responsible for the shooting remained on the scene and was immediately taken into custody without further incident. 

A car was being towed from the area, but it is unknown who the car belongs to and why it was being towed away. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact 410-887-4636.

In a separate incident, two people are dead, and two more are in critical condition after a shooting in Southwest Baltimore, according to CBS News. Police responded to the shooting in the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 6.

Officers found four adults with multiple gunshot wounds inside a home in the 1800 block of McHenry Street. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. Three victims were rushed to the hospital, where a 42-year-old woman later died, police said.

The remaining two victims, a 26-year-old woman and an unidentified man, are in critical but stable condition. As of this writing, none of the victims' names have been released. 

According to the dispatch call, one of the victims dialed 911, saying he couldn't stop bleeding and was shot in the arm, leg, and chest. At this time, there is no information about a possible suspect. No arrests have yet been made. Anyone with information is asked to call Baltimore City Police Homicide Detectives at 866-7LOCKUP.
