ICE Helps Nabs Two Illegal Alien Fugitives Tied to Texas Homicide

WASHINGTON, DC – Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) assisted in the arrest of two illegal alien fugitives reportedly linked to the murder of a 43-year-old woman in Austin, Texas, earlier in October. A third suspect in the murder, who is also an illegal alien, was reportedly apprehended by local authorities in Austin and is facing state charges of first-degree murder.

According to local reports out of Austin, authorities on the morning of October 6th were alerted to the body of a woman located in a wooded area behind a tire shop along Research Blvd., with authorities later identifying the woman as Mary Gonzales. A tire shop employee, Ramon Ramos, said he discovered the body initially, telling a local news outlet, “At times when I open up the shop and I always look out here, I don't know what to expect or what to find.”

On the evening of October 5th, Austin Police had pulled over a man later identified as 21-year-old Enrique Gomez-Urbina for running a stop sign roughly about a mile away from the homicide scene that would be discovered the following morning. At the time Gomez-Urbina was pulled over, officers reportedly observed open beer bottles of Modelo inside the vehicle alongside a Glock and ammunition.

When authorities were working the scene of the homicide the morning of October 6th, a spent cartridge case matching the ammunition found inside Gomez-Urbina’s vehicle was collected into evidence as well as empty bottles of Modelo.

Surveillance footage of the scene later obtained by authorities reportedly showed a vehicle matching the one Gomez-Urbina was pulled over in on October 5th, with the vehicle allegedly pulling up to where the woman’s body was located roughly an hour before his initial interaction with Austin Police.

Two other suspects allegedly involved in Gonzales’ murder, identified as Jesus Llamas-Yanez and Javier Roman Hernandez, were taken into custody by ICE on October 8th. The agency noted that Hernandez entered the United States back in July 2023 “using the disastrous CBP One app” under the Biden administration, while Llamas-Yanez entered the country illegally at an unknown date and time.

Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin issued a statement following the apprehension of the illegal aliens, saying, “These alleged cold-blooded murderers should have never been in our country in the first place and Mary Gonzales should still be alive. One of these criminals came into our country using Biden’s disastrous CBP One app. Open border policies have deadly consequences. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, these accused murderers will never be free on American streets to commit heinous crimes again.”

Gomez-Urbina remains in the Travis County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and resisting arrest, with bond having been set at $254,000. Hernandez and Llamas-Yanez are currently in federal custody and are facing deportation, with the latter of the two also facing charges back in Mexico for an unspecified weapons offense.
