NEWARK, NJ - It might be prudent for two U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to get rabies shots after they were allegedly bit by an unhinged animal among those engaging in the "protest of the week" club, this time at an immigration detention facility in Newark, New Jersey.
Officials say that Brendan John Geier, 26, of Madison, New Jersey, bit the two officers during an anti-ICE protest outside Delaney Hall, an ICE facility, being encouraged by Democrat lawmakers such as NJ Governor Mikie Sherrill, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), and other unhinged leftists.
Geier was arrested Thursday and charged with assaulting federal officers and causing bodily injury, according to the Department of Justice, Fox News Digital reported.
A news release from the DOJ outlined the circumstances where the increasingly violent anti-ICE riots (not “peaceful protests”) have seen an increase in attacks on ICE officers.
“Peaceful protest doesn’t translate to violently attacking federal law enforcement officers,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement.
“Federal officers are protecting United States’ property and facilities,” the statement continued. “With virtually no local law enforcement support from New Jersey, rioters are regrouping and attacking.”
Blanche noted that additional arrests may be expected as law enforcement officials continue their investigation into the riots.
“We will not tolerate the vicious attacks we have seen in Newark the last few days, and we will make arrests and hold people accountable for criminal conduct,” he said.
dir="ltr">"To be clear, peaceful protest does not mean biting, kicking, or punching law enforcement officers," said Acting Special Agent in Charge Spiros Karabinas of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Newark. "The repeated assaults on federal officers at Delaney Hall are criminal acts--not protected speech. Homeland Security Investigations is unwavering in its commitment to hold those who attack law enforcement fully accountable under the law."
On Thursday, nine people were arrested, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Despite Democrats painting the incidents as “peaceful protests,” most of them have been violent and confrontational, with federal officials having to use pepper spray and other crowd control tactics to deal with the unhinged agitators.
“As alleged in the Justice Department’s complaint, this violent rioter savagely bit an ICE law enforcement officer outside of Delaney Hall,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said. “The Trump Administration will always stand with our law enforcement officers.”

“Anyone who assaults a law enforcement officer will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” he continued.
On Thursday at around 10:30 a.m., Geier attacked two ICE officers as they conducted perimeter security operations at the facility. A large number of rioters blocked a roadway leading to Delaney Hall, which forced ICE officers to form a line and advance toward the crowd to restore access. That crowd included Geier.
Rioters refused to comply with repeated commands to move back out of the roadway and continued to block access.
“Geier instead engaged in a struggle with deportation officers, kicking officers and ultimately biting an officer's forearm and another’s knuckle,” the DOJ said in a news release. Both officers were treated and released at a local hospital, authorities said.
Blanche also announced the arrest of a man who made death threats against an ICE officer and his family during a Thursday riot at the facility. The man, who was not identified by Blanche, was captured on video making the threats, prompting Blanche to promise that the individual would be found, arrested, and prosecuted.

“That’s a federal crime,” Blanche told host Will Cain on Fox News’ “The Will Cain Show” on Thursday. “Not only threatening the ICE officer–but think about how disgusting this individual is by threatening his wife and his children.”
The above type of conduct is specifically why ICE officers wear face coverings to conceal their identity, despite attempts by Democrat lawmakers to unmask them through silly laws and ordinances which violate the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution.
In the video, the as-yet unidentified thug taunts the officer, saying, “I will kill your whole f*cking family. Your whole f*cking family is dead. Your children and wife all dead. I have your face motherf*cker. All dead!”
Blanche pushed back, saying the officer was just doing his job and “standing there.”
