OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A New Year’s Eve chase involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), with the assistance of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), reportedly led to several investigative detentions and at least one arrest after agents descended upon a subject vehicle in southeast Oklahoma City.
On the morning of December 31st, ICE and OHP reportedly descended upon a subject vehicle in the area of Southeast 44th Street and Shields Boulevard following a vehicle pursuit. Agents and officers were said to have detained numerous subjects following the end of the pursuit, but only one confirmed arrest has been reported by local outlets.
The identity of the subject arrested, as well as the nature and origin of the pursuit and ensuing arrest, have not been publicly shared by either ICE or OHP officials, with the latter agency only confirming they were on scene to assist ICE during the incident.
Ring video footage that captured some of the scene that played out in the Oklahoma City residential neighborhood shed some light on the incident, showing ICE agents scoping out a white van parked outside a residence in the area. Subsequent footage captured by local media SKY 5’s helicopter showed one male subject in cuffs being escorted to a vehicle by authorities.
The family who resides at the residence where ICE and OHP ended their pursuit confirmed they were not involved with the incident but told local media outlet KOCO 5 that they were familiar with the individual taken into custody by the agency.
As previously reported here at Law Enforcement Today, ICE has collaborated with OHP on a number of occasions throughout 2025, with a late September operation between the two agencies netting over 100 arrests in the span of three days. OHP, which participates in ICE’s 287(g) program, conducted their standard patrol duties along I-40 while the federal agency ran records checks of all stopped vehicles, leading to the over 100 arrests of illegal aliens.
